The California Energy Commission (CEC) has released an updated [Energy Storage System Survey](https://www.energy.ca.gov/data-reports/energy-almanac/california-electricity-data/california-energy-storage-system-survey), showing installed battery storage capacity has grown from just 500 MW in 2018 to 16,942 MW as of July 31, 2025.
