Pursuant to Rule 12.1(b) of the Rules of Practice and Procedure of the California Public Utilities Commission (“Commission”), Pacific Gas and Electric Company (“PG&E”), The Utility Reform Network, the Office of Ratepayer Advocates, and the Alliance for Nuclear Responsibility (the “Settling Parties”) have reached a settlement in principle regarding the treatment of and cost recovery for: (1) license renewal costs (Issue 2.5 in the common briefing outline); and (2) cancelled projects at Diablo Canyon (which is addressed in Ex. PG&E-1 (PG&E Direct Testimony) at p.10-6, line 13 to p. 10-7, line 21 and Ex PG&E-5-2 (PG&E Rebuttal) at p. 6-5, lines 18-21).
The Settling Parties hereby give notice of a settlement conference to discuss the proposed settlement terms and conditions with parties in the proceeding.
Friends of the Earth (“FOE), Natural Resources Defense Council (“NRDC”), Environment California, International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1245 (“IBEW Local 1245”), Coalition of California Utility Employees (“CUE”) and Alliance for Nuclear Responsibility (“A4NR”) along with PG&E, (“Joint Parties”) conceptually support the settlement in principle, which could result in a modification to Section 5.2 of the Joint Proposal.
A telephonic settlement conference will be held on Friday, May 19, 2017, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Pursuant to Rule 12 of the Commission’s Rules of Practice and Procedure, attendance at the settlement conference is limited to parties and their representatives. The purpose of the settlement conference is to provide an opportunity for parties to participate in or comment on the proposed settlement. Pursuant to CPUC rules, all communications relating to the settlement are confidential and may not be disclosed in any respect to the public or in proceedings before the Commission.
