Founded in 2009, the California Energy Storage Alliance (CESA) is a 501c(6) non-profit membership-based advocacy group committed to advancing the role of energy storage in the electric power sector through policy, education, outreach, and research.
Our mission is to make energy storage a mainstream energy resource that accelerates the adoption of renewable energy and promotes a cleaner, efficient, affordable, reliable, and secure electric power system in California.
In pursuit of our mission, we advocate for member interests in key venues responsible for shaping the market for grid storage in California, such as the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC), California Energy Commission (CEC), California Independent System Operator (CAISO), and the State Legislature.
CESA adheres to the following principles when advocating for member interests:
- CESA supports and advances all forms of energy storage
- CESA supports and actively helps promote a competitive and transparent marketplace
- CESA supports and actively practices collaborative and constructive engagement with all stakeholders
